      <image:caption>Violinist Kevin Jang was born in the Philadelphia area where he studied at the Settlement Music School under Lee Snyder. He also studied at Temple University’s Center for Gifted Young Musicians with Choong-Jin Chang. He continued his studies at the Peabody Institute of Music under the tutelage of Herbert Greenberg where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. While at Peabody, Kevin often served as concertmaster and was twice awarded the J.C. Hulsteyn Prize for Strings. He later attended the Catholic University of America where he received a full scholarship and received his Doctoral of Musical Arts degree. While at Catholic, he worked as a graduate teaching assistant helping undergraduates with orchestral performance. Dr. Jang has performed as soloist at the Aspen and Casacade Music Festivals, the Catholic University Symphony and the Trinity Chamber Orchestra of D.C. He has also appeared as guest concertmaster of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra. He has performed chamber music at the Kent/Blossom Festival, where he was awarded the Joseph Gingold Award, the Deer Valley Music Festival and at Strathmore’s Mansion’s Artist –in –Residence series in Bethesda, Maryland. He has worked closely with many distinguished musicians such as violinists Noako Tanaka, Yumi Ninomiya Scott, David Updegraff, Jody Gatwood and Joseph Scheer. He as also worked with members of Cleveland, Muir, Miro, Brentano and Mendelssohn String Quartets.
